Ideas and action

At a local level, to help reduce Brentford's ecological footprint, I'm working with friends, neighbours and community organisations on food, energy and transport issues. To tackle the food challenge in 2007 I took a bird's eye view of the problem with Sustainable Food in Hounslow. If you want to take action why not get an allotment, join Hounslow Community Farming Association or volunteer with Cultivate London? I am also encouraging developers ISIS and other stakeholders to progress the initial thinking on a Brentford Renewable Energy Strategy to the next stage and supporting work on the development of an Isleworth and Brentford cycling hub. All of this I believe could be supported by establishing a Brentford Business Improvement District.

As if that wasn't enough to distract me, I am also continuing to work on sustainability issues at a national and international level, focusing on: the tools needed to embed sustainability issues in the governance of more Pension funds; and the barriers that competition law presents to positive collaboration by businesses on sustainability issues.

For the past ten years I have actively campaigned as a Liberal Democrat. Although I am now stepping back from front-line party politics, you can read more about this campaigning - and many issues that I am still engaged in - here:
