AUDIENCES AND FORMATS

Are you a conference organiser or responsible for recruiting for a community development, pension fund trustee training or corporate responsibility consulting assignment?

Over the past ten years I have spoken at a variety of public events to audiences from half a dozen to 300+, as well as on TV/ radio and the press. I have chaired panels discussions, facilitated workshops and taken on targeted consulting assignments.

I am used to talking to a variety of audiences (young/old - junior/ senior - specialist/ non-specialist) at different levels, adapting my style accordingly. I have worked in different countries speaking to audiences for whom English is not a first language.

My preference is for interactive workshop or "A conversation with..." formats, but equally I can deliver lecture style presentations.

TOPICS

Here is a little more background that may help you determine where I would be a good speaker for your conference/ event. Equally you may want to consider me for consulting assignments involving 'wicked problems'. There are a range of topics that I speak on, run training around and consult through Sensonido Ltd:
- Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility - As former Head of Public Affairs at Business in the Community I am familiar with a broad range of corporate responsibility issues and case studies. I am particularly interested in CSR and SMEs/ micro-enterprises, as well as implications of new trends (e.g. competition law, social media, nanotechnology and GM).
- Responsible Ownership / Pension Fund Trusteeship - I bring my practical experience of pension fund trusteeship to bear on the latest challenges in Sustainable and Responsible Investment (SRI). I am currently leading the development of 'ResponsibleOwnership.org - The toolkit for pension fund trustees and officers'.
- Community participation and town centre regeneration - Drawing on my practical hands-on experience that ranges from food supply to behavioural change to town centre regeneration, I will explore how your organisation might contribute further towards building a sustainable economy.
- Sustainability, competition law and voluntary agreements - I have led advocacy for changes to competition law that would enable greater collaboration between businesses on issues of public benefit. I continue to work in this area with a range of partner organisations. This work is developed under the banner of 'The Cooperatition Incubator'.
- Portfolio careers, social entrepreneurship and community politics - As a life-long social entrepreneur I am happy to share my personal experiences and insights (apolitical and party political) to encourage others to take action in their communities.
